Dr Antonio Marano

 

Partner at Partners4Energy, a Milan based investment bank with an expertise in renewable energy and a strategic partner of MVP, who is in charge of project origination and relationship with financial institutions. He brings extensive experience in designing complex structured finance transactions.

 

Mr. Marano was CEO at Tangenziale Esterna S.p.a., Milano (2012) and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hidden Pearl Investment Fund, Vienna (2011).

 

During his career he held various financing and capital markets-related roles, including  Deputy General Manager at Unicredit (2007/11), CEO at Unicredit Logistics, CEO at Scala Capital - CIR GROUP (2007), Corporate Development Director at Autostrade (2003-2007), Member of the Board of Autostrade International, M6 Toll Road Birmingham, Europpass Ag Vienna, Director Country Manager Commerzbank AG, Milan Branch (1998-2003). Member of the Board of Comdirect Italia Spa, Managing Director Country Manager Creditanstalt Finanziaria Milan, Bank of Austria Group (1991/98).

Dr Mark Liebster, PhD, CChem, MRSC - Non-Executive Director

 

Mark spent the first 10 years of his career in commercial leadership roles in the differentiated and base chemicals businesses of Shell before being seconded to ExxonMobil on a major integrated upstream to petrochemicals, power and water project in Saudi Arabia. He transitioned into the Upstream through a regional adviser role to Shell’s Executive Director for MENASA and CIS.

 

He spent 15 years in various Upstream commercial and M&A leadership roles completing his time at Shell as GM Upstream for North Africa based in Tunisia, during which time he oversaw Shells reentry into Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and exit from Libya during the challenging post Arab Spring period.

 

Following the acquisition of BG, he led the integration of BG Tunisia (30 k boe/d gas production) into the Shell Group. After leaving Shell he joined ADNOC as VP Investment Planning where he has launched the ADNOC Group’s Investment Governance Framework and recently closed a major sell side M&A deal valuing ADNOC refining at USD 19.3 bln and generating USD 5.8 bln in proceeds from the acquisition by ENI and OMV of 20 and 15 percent  of the business.

Mark is a Non-Executive Director of MVP.

Ali Erfan

 

Ali’s career includes venture capital and private equity (senior partner at 3i Group), oil and gas (founding member of Leor Energy and board member of Neos Geosolutions Inc.), precious metals mining (global leadership team and director of the Electrum Group) as well as sitting on various boards and investment committees. He is also a board member of Panthera in the UK, one of the world’s largest wildcat conservation groups.

 

Ali was educated at Eton College and holds a B.A. and M.A. from Oxford University where he studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics, as well as an MBA from the London Business School. He is a Fellow of the Kauffman Foundation for Venture Capital.

Angelo K. Baskaran, MS, MBA, ACA

Angelo K. Baskaran is Chief Financial Officer of 3D Biosurfaces Technologies LLC, a medical products company specializing in cancer diagnostics based in the US and Europe. He was Treasurer and Vice President for the US operations of President Energy PLC, a London Stock Exchange listed international oil and gas company. From 2006 to 2011 he was the Chief Financial Officer of President Energy PLC (formerly, Meridian Petroleum plc) with operations in the UK, USA and Australia. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of London Court Limited, a  London based investment  regulated corporate advisory firm from 2000 to date and an advisory member of Murdock Capital Partners, a corporate finance firm based in New York City.

 

Mr. Baskaran has broad experience in oil and gas and private equity, as well as, trading derivative hedge funds in the commodities markets, globally. He served as Executive Vice President of MBf Asia Capital Corporation, a diversified financial services company operating in Hong Kong from 1992 to 1996 and as Vice President of The Chart Group LP, a private equity and hedge fund firm in New York from 1996 to 1999.

 

Mr. Baskaran holds an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and an MBA in Finance from the CASS Business School, University of London. He is a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales.
